Cincinnati, OH, July 24, 2012; For Immediate Release: Let’s face it, there isn’t a day that goes by where we are not viewing, listening or reading about the importance of safety in youth sports. Recent reports have stated that even one concussion to cause potential harm later in life for our youth athletes. It is for this reason, that Wellington Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine and Our Lady of Visitation Youth Athletic Organization have teamed up to present an informative symposium entitled “Concussions in the Adolescent Athlete”. This symposium is designed to educate and inform parents, coaches and residents of the community to learn more about signs and symptoms of concussions in youth athletes.

The Symposium will be held on Saturday, August 4th at 9AM, in the library at Our Lady of Visitation School, 3172 South Road, Cincinnati, OH, 45248.

The Symposium will feature information presented by Drs. who serve the Wellington Western Ridge office: Dr. Christopher Ruhnke, Dr. Stephen Dailey and Dr. Kevin Reilly.

 

The symposium will address questions like (but not limited to):

 

“This symposium was put together at the request of parents and coaches in our community. They have expressed a desire to learn more about concussions in the youth athlete to be better prepared to deal with these situations should they arise. The symposium will outline the basics of diagnosis and treatment of concussions, with a question and answer session immediately following the presentation” states Dr. Christopher Ruhnke, a Wellington physician.
