About Pilates & Dance Medicine
All Wellington Pilates sessions are supervised by a Wellington, Certified Pilates Instructor. Each of our instructors also holds a bachelors or masters degree in the health care field. Exercises are modified to suit your needs based on physical limitations, past injury or surgery.
Services
Our Dance Medicine program provides the Tri-state dance community with athletic training services including injury assesments, pre-pointe screenings, educational workshops, dance studio visits and backstage care. We offer physical therapy and rehabilitation for all dance specific injuries. All of our dance medicine specialists are committed to the highest standard of care. Our practitioners are members of Dance, USA, The International Association of Dance Medicine and Science and The Pilates Method Alliance.
Cincinnati Ballet
Wellington Orthopaedics is the official medical team for the Cincinnati Ballet. We provide physical therapy, athletic training services and Pilates for Rehabilitation and conditioning in the Cincinnati Ballet building, downtown Cincinnati.
Pilates for Dancers
Wellington Pilates™ certified practitioners design each session, which is catered towards the dancer’s specific needs for improving technique and increasing strength. We are committed to teaching long-term efficient dance technique strengthening. This program encompasses core power to enhance controlled dance movement and balance training to improve proprioceptive feedback.
Outreach
Wellington’s Dance Medicine program provides athletic training services to many local dance studios as part of our outreach program. Our licensed athletic trainers make regular visits to The School for Creative and Performing Arts dance department, McGing Irish Dancers, Planet Dance and Exhale Dance Tribe, Otto M. Budig Academy of Cincinnati Ballet and West Clermont Dance Team to name a few.
Dance Medicine Workshops
The Foundation partners with ‘Dance Medicine Academic Seminars’ to provide seminars geared toward assisting the dance medicine community in managing dance specific injuries. The program also helps educate dancers and dance instructors in the areas of injury prevention and dance specific conditioning to enhance technique.
