Western & Southern Open

With the Western and Southern Open in Mason, OH still 7 months away, Dr. Robert Rhoad, (Wellington Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine) one of the lead tournament physicians, took the opportunity to start his early preparation and spoke at the 2011 Annual Congress of the Society for Tennis Medicine and Science in San Jose, CA. This year’s event was held the final weekend of the SAP Tennis Open (Feb 11-13).

This organization and annual meeting provides a venue for tennis tournament physicians from the major ATP and WTA events around the world while presenting current concepts and developments relating to professional tennis.

Dr. Rhoad along with Dr. Paul Favorito, both highly regarded doctors from the Wellington Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine practice, have been the official medical providers of the Western and Southern Open players for quite some time now and look forward to continuing that level of care that the players have come to expect.

Beginning in 2011, Wellington Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine has partnered with the Western and Southern Open to be the title sponsor of High School Day taking place on the first day of this year’s tournament, August 14th. This exciting partnership will feature a number of new and exciting interactive events for all High School age kids along with great match play by the professional’s.
