Brad R. Wenstrup, DPM
Brad Wenstrup has always been fascinated by medicine. "...but it is hard for me to say exactly what first captured my interest. Perhaps a few too many visits to the emergency room as a kid," he laughs. "I was always intrigued by what I saw there." A casual interest born of childhood injuries began to blossom as the native Cincinnatian graduated from St. Xavier High School and the University of Cincinnati. That interest crystallized when, as a college student, Dr. Wenstrup met a young podiatrist who offered a tour of his practice. "I noticed that most patients left feeling so much better. At the time I was working in an emergency room, where you really don't get to see those kinds of cause and effect results," the doctor explains. "Later on I read that there would soon be an excess of all medical specialties except podiatry ... so I decided my first instinct was correct." After earning a Bachelor of Science and a Doctorate from the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Dr. Wenstrup performed his residency at Chicago's Thorek Hospital and Medical Center. When an opportunity to practice in Cincinnati presented itself, the new podiatrist eagerly accepted. "I loved Chicago, but I was also excited about coming home to my family and friends," he recalls Dr. Wenstrup says his greatest reward is "helping people to get better ... and making sure they actually enjoy the experience! I am especially appreciative when people compliment the office staff. We work very hard to provide a personal touch and I am gratified when people respond to those efforts." In addition to his numerous medical responsibilities and Board positions, Dr. Wenstrup serves as a Major in the United States Army Reserve. He recently returned to Cincinnati from the 344th Combat Support Hospital, Prison Hospital Abu Ghraib, Iraq, where he was the Chief of Surgery. Certifications
