Jesse G. Eisler,MD., Ph.D.

more information on Dr. Eisler and visit Dr. Eisler's web site.
Dr. Jesse Eisler loves a challenge. That's one of the reasons he chose
to specialize in the medical and surgical care of the spine. "I
was drawn to its complexity and to its connection to the rest of the body.
It's the central core of musculoskeletal health and mobility,"
Dr. Eisler says.
His goal is to maximize function for each patient who seeks his help for
such problems as back injury, herniated discs, arthritis of the spine
and degenerative back disease from overuse or chronic wear and tear. Dr.
Eisler teams with Wellington's physiatrists to offer comprehensive treatment--from
exercise to injections to surgery--for acute and chronic spine problems.
He considers each patient an important member of the treatment team. "Patients
who understand their condition and make an educated decision about their
treatment will participate in their care and maximize their ability to
have a positive outcome," Dr. Eisler says. Because the most
effective treatment for any individual is a personal one, he also incorporates
alternative therapies, such as meditation and yoga, for patients who want
to try them. "A component of spine disorders
stems from well-established lifestyle patterns, so I see the mind/body
connection as an important resource for maximizing one's health,"
he explains.
Research has been an integral part of Dr. Eisler's medical career and
he hopes to continue to investigate new ways to help prevent spine problems.
He participated in a National Institues of Health medical scientist training
program at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York City for eight years.
While there, he earned a combined MD/PhD degree and went on to complete
a five-year orthopaedic residency. He comes to Wellington following a
year-long fellowship at the combined orthopaedic and neurosurgery spine
program at the University of British Columbia, as well as an intensive
AO fellowship in spine surgery focused on fixation and biomechanics.
Dr. Eisler will see patients at Wellington's offices in Mt. Auburn and
Blue Ash.
