Pilates Equipment
Equipment used in Wellington's Pilates and Dance Medicine studios includes the following:
ReformersThe gliding platform allows the exerciser to sit, kneel, stand or lie on their front, back or side while performing more than 100 different exercises. Allegro TowerThe tower is used along with the Reformer to add more exercise variations. It allows the exerciser to increase their awareness of stabilizing and controlled movements.
ChairMore than 75 exercises can be performed on the Chair, though the exerciser can be lying down, standing up, lunging forward or pushing up, as well as simply seated. Small apparatus such as box, rings, rollers, balls, and rotating discsAs Pilates exercise has evolved, new apparatus have been developed to enhance and add variety and portability to the exercises.
