John Zisko, MD, is a board-certified primary care physician specializing in sports medicine who’s part of the team of specialists at Wellington Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine. Dr. Zisko sees patients at Wellington’s Cincinnati offices in Anderson and Bridgetown.
A longtime Ohio resident, Dr. Zisko always knew he wanted to become a doctor. He studied biology and pre-medicine at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, graduating magna cum laude with his Bachelor of Science.
Dr. Zisko then enrolled at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, where he earned his medical degree. Passionate about treating patients of all ages, he performed his family practice residency at Anderson Hospital in Cincinnati, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Zisko then furthered his training with a primary care sports medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Orthopaedic & Rheumatologic Institute.
His interest in primary care sports medicine was solidified after sustaining a significant knee injuries in college and medical school. During his recovery, Dr. Zisko spent time with a sports medicine physician and knew he wanted to work with athletes and patients suffering from conditions like osteoarthritis and musculoskeletal injuries.
Dr. Zisko is certified by the American Board of Family Practice and a member of The Ohio State Medical Association, AMA and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, and also holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in sports medicine.
Residing in Cincinnati, Dr. Zisko is excited to continue working with patients on both the east and west side of Cincinnati. He is also committed to serving as team physician for Harrison High School. When he’s not helping patients, Dr. Zisko can be found spending time with his wife, Terri, and their three children.
