Yun, Gordon H., DPM
Growing up in Milwaukee, Dr. Gordon Yun aspired to be a professional athlete. "I participated heavily in school athletics," he explains, but time and again, injuries sent him to the sidelines. "I was in and out of doctor's offices a lot," he recalls. His firsthand experience with these caring physicians helped give focus to his own desire to help others.
Today he enjoys his chosen field of podiatry for the opportunity it gives him to work in partnership with his patients. "The best way to treat any problem is first to ensure the patient has the information to understand and be comfortable with the treatment plan we create"
As a member of Wellington's foot care team, Dr. Yun provides specialized care for both acute and chronic conditions of the foot and ankle. "As podiatrists, we can help people of all ages with a wide range of foot ailments," Dr. Yun explains. "I may see a student with an ingrown toenail, an on-the-go adult with heel pain, athletes who 'overdid it,' or people with diabetes who have foot problems."
"My goal is to help each patient enjoy an active life by offering the appropriate conservative, orthotic or surgical care--or combination--that their needs require."
Podiatrists may practice after one year of post-graduate training, yet Dr. Yun invested three years in residency training in primary and surgical podiatry. "While I'm qualified to perform many types of surgery, I prefer to pursue non-surgical options first, always based, of course, on each patient's unique needs."
Cincinnati's Midwestern values remind Dr. Yun and his wife, Jennifer, of their native Wisconsin. "It makes us feel right at home," he says. Dr. Yun will see patients at Wellington's Anderson, Eastgate, Mt. Auburn and Westside offices.
