Paul J. Favorito, M.D.

Paul J. Favorito, M.D., chose to be a physician because of “the opportunity to provide someone with better health – there is no greater thing you can do.” But it was an interest in the body's musculoskeletal system, and a love of sports, that led him to specialize in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine.

“The musculoskeletal system, that's what makes us go ‘round and ‘round,” he says. “Bones and muscles are responsible for the things we love to do.”

A lifelong athlete, Dr. Favorito was captain of his college squash team, which was ranked 11th in the nation. He is also a marathon runner, tennis player and fly-fishing enthusiast, although he admits that the rigors of medical training left little time to pursue those interests.

After completing a residency in orthopaedic surgery, Dr. Favorito accepted a fellowship in sports medicine with the physicians from Wellington because of their “excellent reputation.” This culminated in an offer the sports lover could not refuse: a chance to work with the Cincinnati Bengals’ team physician, Robert Heidt, Jr., M.D., and the opportunity to join a renowned orthopaedic practice.

The thrill of working with athletes aside, Dr. Favorito enjoys caring for the diverse range of general orthopaedic patients. “Some people think you have to be an athlete to be treated by a sports medicine specialist,” he explains. “To me, everyone is an athlete. Our goal is to get you back to work, and back to your life.”

Married and the father of one, Dr. Favorito sees patients in Mt. Auburn, Anderson Township, Blue Ash and Eastgate.
